The General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) contracted on behalf of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, through an international tender, to purchase 120,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat.
The authority stated that this comes within the framework of the strategy of the ministry to enhance its stocks of basic commodities, noting that shipping will be between April 15-25.
It is noteworthy that the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Al-Moselhi had stated earlier that the strategic reserve of wheat is sufficient for 3.3 months, and the local wheat supply season will begin in mid-April.
