Lebanon’s MoFA Announces Evacuation of Lebanese From Sudan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants announced that it had been informed by the Lebanese Ambassador to Sudan of the evacuation of 52 people who came yesterday from Khartoum on a bus at dawn on Monday, April 24, 2023, from the city of Port Sudan on board a Royal Saudi Navy ship, stating that they are now on their way to Jeddah.

The Lebanese MoFA also stated that their expected arrival to safety was only possible with the help of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Regarding this topic, the Foreign Affairs Minister, Abdallah Bou Habib, extended thanks to the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by its Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, and the Saudi Ambassador to Sudan, for the assistance provided by the Saudi Crisis Cell to evacuate them, and to receive them as guests in Jeddah, in preparation for their return to their homeland at the desired speed.
