Georgia’s Exports to Tajikistan by Road Increased



Georgia’s exports to Tajikistan were mainly carried out by road transport in the period from January to August 2023.

As Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Office of Georgia (Geostat), the value of exports from Georgia to Tajikistan by road in eight months reached $24.198 million, which is 2.7 times more than the same period in 2022 ($8.930 million). .

Exports from Georgia to Tajikistan by rail amounted to $1.074 million, which is double the figure for the same period in 2022 ($524 thousand).

On the other hand, exports of cargo by air amounted to $270.59 thousand, decreasing by 23 percent year on year ($354.6 thousand in January-August 2023).

It should be noted that exports from Georgia to Tajikistan from January to August 2023 reached $25.544 million, which is 2.6 times higher than the figures for the same months of 2022 ($9.810 million).

The country’s imports from Tajikistan amounted to $38,930, which is 5 times less compared to the same period in 2022 ($196,130).

Trade turnover between the countries from January to August 2023 amounted to $25.583 million, which is 2.5 times more than for the same period in 2022 ($10.006 million).
