Germany is Providing 10 Million Euros for the Construction of the Sebzor Hydroelectric Power Plant in the Pamirs



The federal government will provide an additional subsidy of 10 million euros for the construction of the Sebzor hydroelectric power plant, reports the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan.

The agreement on additional financing was signed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Zavki Zavkizoda and the Director of the German Development Bank (KfW) for the Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia region, Veronica Garcia del Arco, Regional Director of the KfW for Central Asia Andreas Schneider and the general director of Pamir Energy » Amrikhon Raimov December 12 in Dushanbe.

The Sebzor hydroelectric power station on the Shokhdara River in the GBAO Roshtkala district with a design capacity of 11 MW is expected to provide green energy to more than 227,000 people in GBAO and 468,000 people in the border areas in neighboring Afghanistan after its commissioning.

According to the report, $84 million in grants have been collected so far for the construction of the Sebzor hydroelectric power plant. These grants were provided by the European Union, the Federal Government, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Cooperation (SECO) and the World Bank.

The Sebzor hydroelectric power plant construction project in Tajikistan received a gold certificate for high standards of sustainable development.
